On November 29th. there was a Meeting on Disabled People Accountability, organized by the Ministry of Labor and Employment. Confiteca was invited to be a part of this event because of its inclusion of handicapped persons as a good handling example. Our representative, Econ. Ricardo Lara, General Manager, talked about the experience of integrating 26 handicapped persons to different company areas, and how this has contributed not only the company’s benefit, but to their personal benefit.
As an answer to the market organic products growth in Europe and the United States within the category of fine chocolate, our company decided to confront the challenge of getting the organic certification as Cocoa Republic and a task force in various areas was formed which implied: Quality Management, a Raw Materials and Materials Warehouse, a Chocolate Plant, General Services, a Cocoa Republic Research and Development and a gathering center in Vinces.

April Ekos magazine had a news report from Dr. Gonzalo Chiriboga Chaves, Confiteca’s Chairman of The Board of Directors, about Confiteca’s coming back to the Stock Market, where commercial and financial documents were immediately sold to private investors. This will enable the company to have a higher investment level.

With this perspective and Mass distribution CONFITECA C.A. acquired a new vehicle fleet partially replacing the existing one, with the objective to reach all our customers efficiently and timely.
Expanding our frontiers has been one our organization biggest objectives this was undertaken in the 90's; that is why we emphasize that we are a succeeding Ecuadorian organization abroad. This year we have another challenge: the establishment of a new distribution enterprise in Nicaragua called CONFITECAM, which started in July 2010. The reason is that our products Artic and Tumix in tablets, have become leading products in Nicaragua are distributed to wholesale customers. We are proud that three of our Ecuador Confiteca collaborators had been selected to manage this new project.
