1963

A Dream starts in 1963

American Chewing Products of Ecuador S.A, starts with American Chewing Products Corp of USA patents and brands on October 10th. 1963 as the first chewing gum production company in Ecuador.
1967

Agogó is born

Agogó Chewing gum appears in Ecuador, the category innovating brand that magnified the company’s growth and leadership. Agogó revolutionized the market and became the joy, taste and fun symbol for different generations and the most important company asset through its history.
1968

The conquest of international markets starts

Conquest of the international markets begins with Agogó. In June 1968 the company starts exporting to Argentina.
1971

Agogó gets to Brazil

The company keeps on expanding through the continent and in April 1971 starts exporting ball chewing gum to Brazil.
1976

The conquest of new categories in candy

Confiteca ventures into new categories of candy as lollipop, candies, toffees and coated candy, all innovative products for that time market.
1978

American is born

In 1978 Confiteca launches its brand American, in the line of chewing gum.
1981

The company creates its own distribution system

The company takes a step in distribution control, establishing a direct sales route system organization and zoning for market deeper penetration.
1988

The first success 25 years

In 1988 Confiteca celebrated its first 25 years of continuous success. A quarter of a century full of positive advances.
1991

Kataboom, the liquid explosion of intense taste starts

Confiteca surprises the market and competition launching in 1991 the first liquid chewing gum, under the name of kataboom, a chewing gum with several tastes and abundant liquid that generates a great sensation among young people.
1992

Confiteca gets the first place in sales volume

In 1992 Confiteca got a new record and became Ecuador first company.
1993

Confiteca’s operations reach Colombia

Confiteca's interest in international markets leads it to conquer new markets out-of-Ecuador. In 1993 Confiteca initiates its operations through Confitecol S.A, aiming to attain in Colombia the same success in Ecuador.
1994

Operations reach Peru

The expansion in the region advances rapidly with Confiperú S.A in 1994.
1995

Launching a New Product

Confiteca transforms the candy market with 3 innovative products: Super Hyper acid, the chewing gum giving intense sensations among children. Plop, lollipop with seductive taste and Jaazz, a mentholated candy that transmits a new concept of freshness.
1996

Confiperú in constant growth

Confiperú successfully launches its first brand, Boogie : a refreshing chewing gum.
1997

Tumix, the chewing gum that gives Confiteca a great encouragement

Brand Tumix marks rises with force in the Ecuadorian market, promising freshness at lower price, a very competitive positioning that paved the way for success. Tumix is the category absolute leader and Confiteca’s notable brand.
1998

Chichiste is born

Confiperú strengthens its position in the chewing gums market with Chichiste, the chewing gum that tells you a joke.
1999

A world of opportunities opens up for Confiteca

For the sake of strengthening exports and entering to compete at global level, Confiteca in 1999 initiates its participation in the largest and most important world fair of sweets: ISM in Cologne - Germany
2002

34 countries in the world enjoy Confiteca's flavor

Confiteca's strong export strategy is fruitful. In year 2002 its products enter with great acceptance in 34 countries, with special recognition; America Economía magazine included Confiteca among the 7 companies with better management in Latin America.
Candy Industry Magazine (USA) simultaneously distinguished Confiteca as one of the 100 largest candy producers in the world.
2004

A new challenge

Confiteca assumes a new challenge: Competing with high-quality products in the chocolate market.
In the 2004 Confiteca enters the chocolate market with its brands American and Chocotin.
2005

Confiteca enters the market with novelty products

The company initiates a high differentiation novelty products development for children and adolescents markets.
2009

Production goes forward

In May 2009 a new production plant is inaugurated in Colombia.
2010

Confiteca gets the reward to one of the most traditional brands in Ecuador

The First Place was given to us as the most important brand in the Candy category by EKOS magazine.
CONFITECAM a new Distribution enterprise starts in July 2010 operations in Nicaragua.
2011

Confiteca gets back to the Stock Market

April Ekos magazine had a news report from Dr. Gonzalo Chiriboga Chaves, Confiteca’s Chairman of The Board of Directors, about Confiteca’s getting back to the Stock Market, where commercial and financial documents were immediately sold to private investors. This will enable the company to have a higher investment level.

Confiteca consolidates its leadership in Ecuador, Peru and Colombia

The group brands are regularly exported to 33 countries in 5 continents, with markets in Venezuela, Bolivia, Haiti, Nicaragua, Uruguay, Mexico, Panama, United Arab Emirates, Cuba, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Ghana, Honduras, Greece, United States, Spain, Sweden, Italy, Chile and Israel, among others.
